Evidenced based stroke care in Scotland:  the good, the bad and the drudgery

JIM PETRIE ANNUAL LECTURE

Professor Peter Langhorne, Professor of Stroke Care, University of Glasgow

Peter Langhorne is Emeritus Professor at the University of Glasgow, UK. After training in Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow, his research work focused on the effectiveness of different treatment strategies for stroke patients, including service delivery (eg. stroke units and early supported discharge) and stroke rehabilitation (eg. early rehabilitation). This work has involved the use of various methodological approaches and collaboration with colleagues from around the world. He was the coordinating editor of the Cochrane Stroke Group and is still trying to complete his Munros.
